Located on the popular and vibrant Monkey Forest street in Ubud, Liap Liap offers a unique cuisine crafted based on a modern interpretation of classic Indonesian grilled dishes. Liap Liap itself means the crackling flame that comes from charcoal embers, usually found in one of Indonesia’s oldest cooking methods. Drawing further inspiration from journeys across the archipelago, the skilled culinary team aims the vibrant flavours of the country as authentic as possible – focusing on indigenous cooking styles, such as traditional grilling and smoking techniques. The concept continues on the design of the restaurant, exuding rustic-chic vibe and a welcoming comfort, with organic materials like reclaimed wood, local rattan and more.
